Sundays are made to relax and rest so we took the waterbus again back to our lovely sunny place called the Frozen beach bar at Nei Epivates. I had a rough time getting to the port because I wore my new flip flops that I bought at the mall yesterday. I ended up with blisters on both my feet. Once we finally got there, the packed boat was already there and still waiting. On weekends residents of Thessaloniki take the waterbus to the shores to relax. Insert crowded boat 😝
When arrived at our destination, we wanted to try out some new cocktails from the bar but it ended up being a big disappointment. My girl started off great with a jummy Cosmopolitan. Lter on she tried a Margarita that was way too salty (all kidding aside). She thought she had received a glass of sea water with some tequila mixed in there 😂. I tried a Cuba Libre which I thought wasn’t great (but I think that was more a matter of personal taste) and the mojito wasn’t even close to the one I tasted on Thursday. We got a bit peckish so we decided to order some food. After discovering that half the menu wasn’t available anymore we both ordered a hamburger. We expected it to be a real meal from it, but yet again, disappointment followed. The burger contained squat: the sandwich, the burger, one slice of tomato, one thin piece of lettuce and some ketchup merged with mustard.
After our nice stay at the beach (because the fun we had by ourselves, and NOT because of the bar) we traveled back with the waterbus. This was such a lovely journey. As we sailed away from the port of Nei Epivates, we saw the sunset behind the beautiful mountains. And if that wasn’t enough, some dolphins decided to take their time to say hi to the boat and all the passengers. As they were jumbling around, we got the perfect opportunity to take some pictures and videos of them.
We concluded a long day of relaxing, sunbathing and dolphin-waving by heading back to our noisy apartment. Thanks for reading and see you all again tomorrow! We’ll be heading to Perea beach and go to a restaurant.
